Fabrik Contemporary Art presents selected works by Mel Ramos.
Known as one of the proponents of the ‘Pop Art’ movement in 1960’s, along with Warhol, Lichtenstein, Oldenburg, Wesselmann and Rosenquist, Mel Ramos is a figurative painter whose work illustrates pin up celebrity women that embody the elements of realist and abstract art. Combining these elements, his well-known series of nudes ironically comment on the picture of women projected by the mass media and consumer advertising. Ramos has fleshed out practically every popular erotic fantasy of women, from the cartoon super-heroine to the dominatrix and pin-up girl.
Fabrik is privileged to present a selection of limited edition Lithographs by the artist from November 18 to December 5, 2009. For enquiries, please contact info@fabrik-gallery.com or call 2525 4911 or 9137 7679.
